Oh, The Places Youʼll Go!
Week of May 11th - Last Week of Remote Learning
Dear Glacier Valley Family,
As we continue to navigate unchartered waters, ready ourselves for the summer months and take that next step in our school or life journey, I wanted to leave you with this musical adaptation of Dr. Seussʼ Oh, The Places Youʼll Go (You can also sing-along to this rap version). I particularly would like to dedicate this song to our 5th graders who are moving on to middle school: I will miss you and hope youʼll remember the chorus of our Glacier Valley Song: "The school that opens doors." We mean it! Our doors are always open, and we hope youʼll come back to visit us :)
Iʼve also added a short video of my lifeʼs journey. Itʼs several years old, but I still feel the same way. I never imagined when graduating from high school in a Pennsylvania farm town that Iʼd be living here in Juneau, but I followed my heart, listened to my gut and as Dr. Seuss said: “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.” Iʼm so glad that I chose to make Juneau and Glacier Valley my home. Iʼm looking forward to seeing you again next year and hearing about all the places youʼll go :)

Welcome to Glacier Valley Music
This website serves to connect students and families with the Glacier Valley Music classroom. I will post music and movement activities that support our school district music standards and GV culture for children to do on their own or with families. Thank you, Rebecca Ricker and Sheryl Wittig, who shared their music classroom websites with me to draw inspiration.
